A Dog’s Day Out

Hello everyone!  It’s Sammy Wags taking over blogging duties for my ma while she’s out buying food and treats for me.

Mutt_Strut_1Today, many of my doggie friends in Indianapolis, Indiana are attending a really fun event called the Mutt Strut.  They all get to walk around the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway and help raise money for the homeless doggies at the Indianapolis Humane Society. Mutt_Strut_madison (3)
My friend Madison (who I blogged about a little while ago) got to go with her mommy and sent some photos for me to share.  I really hope my ma will take me there someday!

No matter what city you live in, there are some really fun doggie events that you can attend with your humans!  Here are a few that are already on my calendar in the Buffalo area:

  • Tails on the Trails
    Saturday, June 4,  10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    Como Park in Lancaster

The nice people at the Pet Connection, Inc. host this fun event every year right in my hometown!  In addition to the dog walk, there will be contests, raffles, a basket auction, vendors and a cookout. Other fun stuff to do includes demonstrations,  a "good citizen" dog test, pet blessing, pet psychic, pet first aid, dog agility and much more!

  • Wine & Wags Social Event
    Wednesday, June 8,  6 – 8:30 p.m.
SPCA Serving Erie County in North Tonawanda

Wine and Wags 009My humans LOVE this event because it involves two things very dear to their hearts – wine and ME.  Humans can bring their favorite four-legged fur people and taste wines from several area wineries.  They can also eat yummy local food and buy all kinds of doggie stuff for us (jackpot!).  We went with our friends Jody, Shamus, Matt and Jessie and had a blast!  The best part is that all proceeds benefit the homeless pups at the SPCA Serving Erie County!

So needless to say, there is a LOT going on in the month of June for us canines.  If you know of any other doggie event going on either here in Buffalo or in another city, please comment so my ma can put them on my social calendar!

  1. Thanks for listing events shared by furry children and their parents!
It's also nice to take dogs for walks in walkable communities such as Elmwood Ave and suburban villages i.e. Hamburg, Orchard Park and Lancaster. Our local ice cream shop serves doggie sundaes (ice cream with a biscuit on top).

  2. Here's an infographic highlighting dogs in Hollywood over the years. It may make for a good, quick post!
